- Came home and got on the computer.
Some time ago one of my friends sent me a list of books that you will never see in print. It was quite amusing and I’ve remembered several of them over the years. One of them was entitled Daddy Drinks Because You Cry. Now, at that time, I could not appreciate fully the pathetic humor of that title; however, now I can. And, because in these last few days of busyness and stress, I completely appreciate the title but, have decided to revise the title to more appropriately fit my situation. Therefore, the book you will never see in print, will now be entitled Mommy Drools Because You Yell, Fight, Tease and Whine. It’s a bit longer than the original, but it truly encompasses more accurately how I feel at this very moment.
Have a blessed day!
So, I’m joining in this carnival of blogging about our Saturday’s week in review. If you so desire to join in, you can go here. So here’s my week:
Sunday
- Lovely stomach flu
- Laid up in bed all day long
Monday
- Tired from stomach flu, but felt much better
- Did a little laundry, crocheted a little
- Played with the kids
- Watered my garden
- Made salad for dinner and my stomach didn’t explode from all the ruffage – BIG plus!
Tuesday
- Cleaned the house half-heartedly
- worked on the computer learning to use my PSP for all sorts of really cool things
Wednesday
- Church night
- boring stuff all day
- I did work on the VBS Registration sheets and they turned out good
Thursday
- watered the garden for awhile as the kids played in the yard
- talked to Mom on the phone
- crocheted, cleaned and did more laundry
Friday
- Our most expensive day and our most exciting by far
- Helped the kids build castles with couch and chair cushions – very interesting configurations
- Went to the ER after my son didn’t believe me when I said that my flatiron was still hot and had to touch it and then subsequently burned his left 3 middle fingers. He’s fine and he received his badge of honor which he proudly displayed so that I could take a picture.

Saturday
- Finishing my crochet swap Christmas ornaments so that I can mail them out on Monday.
- Hopefully getting my hair cut so I don’t look like a mop head for next weekend. I want to make a decent, if not good, impression at the church in GA.
- Watching Gilmore Girls Season 2. I can’t get enough of watching that show! LOVE it!
- Had a recent update: One of Benjamin’s blisters popped, so he screamed for a few minutes. I put Neosporin on it and wrapped it with a kleenex. All better now.
- “Buzz Lightyear has balls!” (my son pointing to the joints that help Buzz’s arms and legs to move) – this one almost made me squirt Cherry Coke Zero out my nose.
- “Strawberry Cortcake is my favorite smell-good doll, Mommy!” (my daughter getting the Strawberry Shortcake doll for her birthday)
- “My under elbows are so sweaty!” (my daughter after playing outside)
- “His bottom lights up so he can find his girlfriend.” (my son again watching the lightening bugs out in the backyard and explaining to me his answer for why they light up)
Yes, folks, these are just some of the precious and funny things my children say to me. Sometimes it’s hard to keep a straight face!
